The Hertford Boer War Memorial is located on the side of the Hertford Library and School of Art at Old Cross, Hertford. The names listed are of all those who volunteered and fought in South Africa during 1899-1902, those who died are listed in blocks separate from those who served. There are 101 names, 3 of whom died. The memorial was constructed by Messrs. W Andrews and Sons and is in the for of a stone plaque within a Gothic Arch. The details are broken down into three sections with names in alphabetical order within each; these sections are 4th Battalion, The Bedfordshire Regiment (Hertfordshire Militia), Hertfordshire Imperial Yeomanry and 1st (Hertfordshire) Volunteer Battalion, The Bedfordshire Regiment. For ease of searching the details here have been sorted into alphabetical order.
