The Ascott under Wychwood war memorial is located at Memorial Playing Field, High Street, Ascott under Wychwood. It takes the form of the recreation ground and gates with dedicatory stone tablet on the right hand gate post. The names have been sorted here into alphabetical order within section.

BECK	Cecil [Montague]	Private 9991, 2nd Battalion, Princess Charlotte of Wales's (Royal Berkshire Regiment). Killed in action 1 July 1916. Born Sulham, Berkshire, resident Ascott-Under-Wychwood, Oxon, enlisted Reading. Son of Mrs. Louisa Mary Beck. Buried in SERRE ROAD CEMETERY No. 2, Somme, France. Plot III. Row C. Grave 6.
CLARIDGE	John A	Lance Corporal 11852, 2nd/4th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Killed in action 12 September 1918. Born and resident Ascott-Under-Wychwood, Oxon, enlisted Oxford. No known grave. Commemorated on PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, Hainaut, Belgium. Panel 7.
CLARIDGE	William J	Corporal 17716, 6th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Died of wounds 29 September 1916. Born and resident Ascott-Under-Wychwood, Oxon, enlisted Oxford. Brother of Jennie Claridge, of Church View, Ascott-Under-Wychwood, Oxon. Buried in GROVE TOWN CEMETERY, MEAULTE, Somme, France. Plot I. Row K. Grave 16.
FAULKNER	William	Stoker 1st Class K/34503, H.M.S. "Heela" ("Racoon)," Royal Navy. Died 9 January 1918. Aged 20. Son of James and Emily Faulkner, of Ascott-under-Wychwood, Oxon. No known grave. Commemorated on PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, Hampshire. Panel 30.
HANKS	Ernest	Private 203371, 1st/4th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry formerly Queen's Own Oxfordshire Hussars. Killed in action 21 May 1917. JACKSON	Frank Ernest	Private 201983, 2nd/4th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Killed in action 10 September 1917. Aged 20. Born and resident Ascott-Under-Wychwood, Oxon, enlisted Oxford. Son of Thomas Samuel and Mary Ann Jackson, of 4, Church View, Ascott-under-Wychwood, Oxon. No known grave. LONGSHAW	Albert Thomas	Private 42079, 2nd Battalion, Hampshire Regiment formerly 17847, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Died of wounds 16 April 1918. Aged 28. Born Shipton, Oxon, resident Ascott-Under-Wychwood, Oxon, enlisted Oxford. Husband of M. E. Longshaw, of Merris Court Farm, Churchill, Oxon. THIS FIELD WAS PURCHASED IN 1948 AS A PUBLIC RECREATION GROUND OUT OF FUNDS SUBSCRIBED BY THE INHABITANTS OF ASCOTT-UNDER-WYCHWOOD IN MEMORY OF THOSE FROM THIS VILLAGE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR THE FALLEN KILLED IN ACTION
FLETCHER	Roland John	Private 14505268, 7th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Died 23 February 1944. Aged 19. Son of Vernon and May Fletcher, of Ascott-under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire. Buried in ANZIO WAR CEMETERY, Italy. Plot I. Row E. Grave 6.
MASTERS	Kenneth Henry	Lance Corporal 11412886, 1st Battalionn The London Scottish, Gordon Highlanders. Died 17 September 1944. Aged 21. Son of Henry Masters, and of Hester Minnie Masters, of Ascott-under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire. Buried in CORIANO RIDGE WAR CEMETERY, Italy. Plot VIII. Row A. Grave 7.
