The
memorial is to be found in St Peter and St Paul's Church, Dry Drayton.
It takes the form of a white marble tablet mounted onto a brown marble
backboard with the inscription in black lettering. A tablet has been
placed below the original World War 1 tablet listing the World War 2
casualties. There are 15 names for World War 1 and 2 for World War 2.

on Saturday, 1st July 1916. Age 20. Born Dry Drayton, enlisted Bury
St Edmunds. Son of Lydia Anable, of Dry Drayton, Cambridge, and
the late Samuel Anable. No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL
MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 1 C and 2 A

Killed in flying accident, 10th December 1916, at Gosport Hants.
Aged 22. Son of John Marsland Brooke & Jane Brooke,of Childerley
Hall. The aircraft, a Henri Farman, stalled & crashed from 200ft.
The aircraft's other occupant, Second Lieutenant William Desmond
Guthrie Lotan, from Dublin (Royal Munster Fusiliers & Royal
Flying Corps) was also killed and is buried at Clare, Co. Kildare.
Buried near the south boundary in SS. PETER AND PAUL CHURCHYARD,
DRY DRAYTON, Cambridgeshire. See also Childerley

Jane with three children. In the 1911 census he is 28 years old,
an Agricultural Labourer, married to Eliza Jane, born Girton, resident
Catch Hall Farm, Huntingdon Road near Cambridge. No known grave.
