The Manston memorial is in the form of a White Marble Tablet bearing an inscription to the memory of the men (naming them) of the Parish of Manston who gave their lives in the Great War, and is placed on the wall in the parish church of St Nicholas, Manston.

In 1921 the inhabitants of Manston collected £47-3s by subscriptions from over 50 people excluding the school children, girl guides, boy scouts and the brothers and sisters of John Day.

Rev R E P Gorringe, brother to Mervyn Gorringe, made the arrangements and J Wippel & Co Ltd of 55 & 56 High St & Cathedral Yard Exeter made and inscribed the tablet at a cost of £32-18s-6d. The remaining amount was donated to the Blinded Soldiers & Sailors Hostel, Headquarters of St Dunstans Work, Inner Circle, Regents Park NW1.

BARLOW	William S	Private 15794, 6th Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment. Killed in action 9th July 1916. Buried Dantzig Alley British Cemetery, Mametz II. H. 10. Born Richmond, Surrey. Enlisted Sturminster Newton.
BASTABLE	William Harry or Henry	Private 266964 1st/7th Bn Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Died 11th August 1917 aged 27. Commemerated Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial Panel 8. Son of Mr H E & Elizabeth Bastable, of Manston, Sturminster Newton. Enlisted Tewksbury. Killed in action.
BROWN	Raymond [William]	Private 14922 5th Bn Dorsetshire Regiment. Died 26 September 1916 aged 18. Son of William & Love Brown, Sutton Waldron. Commemorated Thiepval Memorial Pier and Face 7 B. Enlisted Sturminster Newton. Killed in action.
DAY	John E P	Corporal 27178 6th Bn Dorsetshire Regiment. Died 13th November 1917 aged 36. Son of the late Eli and Mary C J Day of Manston, Dorset and husband of 2 Alcester Villas , Shaftesbury, Dorset. Buried Dozinghem Military Cemetery. XIII.F.1 Enlisted Fareham. Died of wounds.
FOOT	Herbert	Lance Corporal 14836 5th Bn Dorsetshire Regiment. Died 26th September 1916. Commemorated Thiepval Memorial Pier and Face 7 B. Residence Marnhull. Enlisted Dorchester. Killed in action. Date of entry - 11 Oct 1915 Balkans.
GORRINGE	Mervyn Hugh Egerton	Lance Corporal 38807 2nd Bn Otago Regiment NZEF 25th Reinforcement. Died 12th December 1917 aged 40. Son of Peter R and Fanny E Gorringe of Dorset, husband of Margaret Gorringe of Levin, Wellington, New Zealand. Born at Manston, Dorset. Buried Polygon Wood Cemetery C9 (killed Ypres). Entered 26 Apr 1917.
HAZELL	Frederick Pung	Second Lieutenant AA/1819 Labour Corps 101st Coy Northamptonshre Regiment (formerly 12th Labour Coy). Died of wounds 19th May 1918. Buried St Sever Cemetery Rouen Officers B 96 (Also listed on Colchester Memorial)
SPENCER	Arthur James	Private 14623 6th Bn Dorsetshire Regiment. Died 10th Nov 1916 aged 18. Son of Harry and Fanny Spencer, of The Cross, Belchalwell. Buried Grove Town Cemetery, Meaulte II C 2. Lived Belchalwell. Enlisted Blandford. Died of wounds. (Also listed on a War Memorial St Aldhelms Church, Belchalwell)
