aged 24 years, height 5 feet 9½ inches, chest 38 inches, weight 168lbs, fresh complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, religious denomination Church of England. In the 1911 census he was aged 21,
born Newton, Suffolk, a farm labourer, son of George and Caroline
Gardiner, resident near Dale Hall, Lawford near Manningtree, Essex.
Went to France 31 August 1915. Buried at DICKEBUSCH NEW MILITARY
