Eric was a Trooper (#525) with the Imperial Camel Corps (Australian), 4th Australian Battalion, who died in Syria at age 23 on March 28, 1918. He is recorded at the Damascus Commonwealth Cemetery (C58). He was the son of Frederick and Jesse Jarrett of 36 Cambrian Rd., Tunbridge Wells. He is also listed on the Crowborugh Memorial. He is also listed on the High Brooms memorial plaque as Private E. Jarrett.

Sydney was a Corporal (#B/202314) with the Rifle Brigade, 10th Battalion, who at the age of 27 was killed in Belgium February 11, 1918. He is recorded at the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery (XXVII. FF/17A). He was the son of Samuel William and Louis Jarvis of 8 Stratford St., Tunbridge Wells.

This listing was no doubt intended to be for Edwin Thomas Joseph Jeffery a Private (#7656) with the 1st Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment who died of trench fever in France April 2, 1917 at age 20. He is recorded at the Etaples Military Cemetery (XXII. D. 3A). He was the son of Edwin Jeffery of Tunbridge Wells.

Edwin was born in St John's Tunbridge Wells, a resident of Tunbridge Wells and enlisted for service at Southborough. He was a Sapper (#939) with the 1st/3rd Kent Field Co Royal Engineers who was a soldier that died at sea October 28, 1915 during the Hythe disaster. He is recorded at the Helles Memorial (panel 23 to 25 or 325 to 328). He was the son of George and Mary Jeffery of 96 Silverdale Rd., Tunbridge Wells and the brother of Rowland Jeffery who also died in the war. Edwin was born in Tunbridge Wells and was a resident of the town before enlisting for service at Southborough. He was in military service before the war and had been a member of the unit band. Edwin was a Private (#7656) with the Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, 1st Battalion, who at the age of 20 died in France April 2, 1917. He is recorded at the Etaples Military Cemetery (XXII. D. 3A). He was the son of Edwin Jeffery of Tunbridge Wells.

Percy was born at St John's Tunbridge Wells and enlisted for service there. He was a Private (#G/12099) with the Queens Royal West Kent Regiment, 7th Battalion, who at age 24 died in France October 2, 1916. He is recorded at the Thiepval Memorial (pier and face 11c). He was the son of Mrs Sarah Jeffery of 8 Bedford Rd., Southborough, Tunbridge Wells.

Rowland was a Private (#28853) with the 1st/5th Battalion, Border Regiment who died at age 25 in Germany May 5, 1919. He is recorded at the Cologne Southern Cemetery (XII. D. 25). He was the son of George and Mary Jeffery of 96 Silverdale Rd., Tunbridge Wells. He was the brother of Edwin Jeffery who was also killed in the war.

John was a Private (#8319) with the 1st Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment who died April 15, 1918 aged 30. He was the son of John William and Frances Hester Jenner of Mayfield, Sussex but before the war he was a resident of 3 St Paul's Street, Rusthall. John was a career soldier and was one of the Old Contemptibles who had fought with the Expeditionary Force. He died in action on the Western Front. He was buried at the Tannay British Cemetery, Thiennes France (grave 2 row A). He is also remembered at the Rusthall War Memoiral (memorial 174 at Rusthall Church).

He is also recorded on the Southborough Memorial. John was born in Tunbridge Wells 1886. In 1911 he was living at 35 Colebrooke Rd, High Brooms, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells and working as a bricklayer and living with his wife Kate and their one year old son John William Johnson. John was the son of Peter (a groom and also a grounds labourer) and Harriett Johnson and was one of seven children in the family (by 1911). John enlisted for service in Tunbridge Wells. He was a Lance Serjeant (#G/4078) with the Queens Own West Kent Regiment who died in Belgium October 12, 1917. He is recorded at the Tyne Cot Meorial (panel 106 to 108). In 1911 his parents were living at 88 Queens Rd., Tunbridge Wells. He is also listed as a Serjeant J. L. Johnson on the High Brooms memorial plaque.

Arthur was a Private (#30501) with the 1st Battalion, Essex Regiment who died April 19, 1917. He is recorded at the Grevillers British Cemetery (I. AA. 9). He was the son of Henry and Fanny Jones of High Wycombe Bucks. and the husband of Rosa Greene (Formerly Jones) of 41 Culverden Ave., Tunbridge Wells.

Edwin was a Private (#353) with B Coy 6th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment who at age 24 died in Belgium July 19, 1915. He is recorded at the Poelcapelle British Cemetery (LVI. D. 8). He was the son of John and Harriet Jones and husband of Ada Wren (formerly Jones) of 83 St James Park, Tunbridge Wells. He is recorded as Edward Malcolm Jones on the Southborough Memorial. He is also listed on the High Brooms memorial plaque as Private E. M. Jones.

Leonard was born at Chartwood, Surrey in 1888 and a resident of Tunbridge Wells before the war. In 1891 and 1901 he was living at Charwood, Surrey. He was an Acting Corporal (#P/1407) with the Corp of Military Police Foot Branch who died of wounds in France September 29-30, 1917. He is recorded at the Poperinghe New Military Cemetery (II. H. 43). He was the son of Stephen and Mary Jordan of Charwood, Surrey.
