Note: He is buried in Amritsar Cantonment Cemetery. The KIRKEE MEMORIAL commemorates more than 1,800 servicemen who died in India during the First World War, who are buried in civil and cantonment cemeteries in India and Pakistan where their graves can no longer be properly maintained. |

Aged 26. Born 26th January 1893. Baptised at the Primitive Methodist Church, Henshaw Street, Oldham 1st March 1893. Son of John and Isabella, of Summit Villa, 811 Rochdale Road, Royton on the 25th October 1915 when he attested, his occupation was baker. He was on home service from the 25th October 1915 - 21st May 1917, was then with the British Salonika Force from the 22nd May 1917 to 21st September 1917 then with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force from the 22nd September 1917 till his death in 1918.
