The Memorial Cross is to be found in All Saints Church Graveyard, All Saints Road, Speke and was erected after the First World War to commemorate the Speke residents who gave their lives. The memorial takes the form of a Greek, sandstone, cross with Celtic knotwork mounted on a shaft and plinth. There are nine names for World War 1 included on the Cross of which one, Richard Hall Watt, is thought to be a relative of Miss Adelaide Watt, of Speke Hall, and not necessarily a Speke Resident.

Each Remembrance Day the church congregation moves outside after their morning service to be joined by the local British Legion, other uniformed organisations such as the Sea Cadets and anyone who wants to pay their respects around the Cross. They are few in number now, but still gather to remember and are happy for others to join them.

Within the church is a framed Roll of Honour with a ahdn-written inscription in black lettering. It lists 78 men who served and returned from World War 1 and four who died.

CLAY	Richard	Private 9392, 2nd Battalion, Prince of Wales's (North Staffordshire Regiment). Died in India on Thursday 21st October 1915. Born Eccleshall, enlisted Stafford, resident Bridgford. No known grave. Commemorated on KARACHI 1914-1918 WAR MEMORIAL, Pakistan.
GANDY	Thomas	Private 38889, 13th Battalion, King's (Liverpool Regiment). Killed in action on Thursday 28th March 1918. Born Speke, Liverpool, enlisted and resident Liverpool. No known grave. Commemorated on ARRAS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Bay 3.
HALL-WATT	Richard	Second Lieutenant, 1st Battalion, Grenadier Guards. Killed in action 13th October 1917. Buried in ARTILLERY WOOD CEMETERY, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot IX. Row B. Grave 3.
MERCER	John	Private 401042, 16th Battalion, Manchester Regiment. Killed in action on Thursday 21st March 1918. Aged 19. Born and enlisted Liverpool, resident Speke. Son of Thomas and Mary Mercer, of 55, Oglet Lane, Speke, Liverpool. No known grave. Commemorated on POZIERES MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Panel 64 to 67.
NICOLLS	Charles	Private 16078, "B" Company, 5th Battalion, King's (Shropshire Light Infantry). Killed in action on Saturday 25th September 1915. Aged 18. Born Four Crosses, Mont., enlisted Oswestry, resident Chirk. Son of Charles and Sarah Jane Nicholls, of 4, Boundary Cottages, Speke, Liverpool. No known grave. Commemorated on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Addenda Panel 58.
PROBYN	Harry	Sapper 438195, 427th Field Company, Royal Engineers. Killed in action on Thursday 6th September 1917. Aged 26. Born and resident liverpool, enlisted Manchester. Son of Hugh and Emma Probyn, of Hale Cliff, Hale, Liverpool. Buried in POTIJZE CHATEAU GROUNDS CEMETERY, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot II. Row G. Grave 23.
RAPER	Thomas	Lance Corporal 23203, 1st Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers. Killed in action on Thursday 11th April 1918. Born Speke, enlisted Liverpool. No known grave. Commemorated on PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, Comines-Warneton, Hainaut, Belgium. Panel 4.
WYKE	[Thomas] Frederick aka Fred	Corporal S/10469, 7th Battalion, Seathforth Highlanders (Ross-shire Buffs, the Duke of Albany's). Killed in action 16th November 1915. Aged 22. Born and enlisted Liverpool. Son of Thomas and Ellen Wyke, of 10, Speke Town Rd., Speke, Liverpool. Formerly 8579, 5th Reserve Cavalry Regiment. No known grave. Commemorated on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 38.
WYKE	William Edward	Private 17487, 2/4th Battalion (Territorial), Hampshire Regiment. Died of wounds on Thursday 3rd October 1918. Born Speke, enlisted Liverpool, resident Garston. Buried in GREVILLERS BRITISH CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot XV. Row E. Grave 12.
