There are two memorials in the Church of St Mary, Covenham St Mary which is no longer in regular use. The World War 1 plaque takes the form of a white marble tablet with a stone surround. There are seven names listed, five served and returned and two paid the ultimate sacrifice. There is also a plaque that was moved from one of the chapels in Covenham covering the men who died in World War 2.

SACRIFICE.

GRUNDY	[Fred] James	Private 58955, 1/5th Battalion, Prince of Wales's Own (West Yorkshire Regiment). Killed in action 25 April 1918. Aged 19. Born Covenham, enlisted Holland, Lincolnshire, resident Moulton, Lincolnshire. Son of James and Annie M. Grundy, of Covenham St. Mary, Louth, Lincs. No known grave. Commemorated on TYNE COT MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 42 to 47 and 162.
EMERSON	Charles [William]	Private 40981, 7th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Died of wounds 28n April 1917, Enlisted Louth. Formerly 2043, Suffolk Regiment. No known grave. Commemorated on ARRAS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Bay 4.
