The Edstaston war memorial is located in St Mary's Churchyard, Village Street off the B5476, Edstaston, Shropshire. It takes the form of a tone Calvary cross with a sword affixed to the shaft. New slate tablets with the inscription and names have been recently attached over the top of the original inscriptions. There are thirteen names for World War 1 and two names for World War 2.

BECKETT	P	Pte. East Lancs. Percy Beckett. Private 30569. 8th Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment. Killed in action 29th March 1918. Son of Thomas and Sarah Ann Beckett (nee Bowker). Born 1895 Whixall and enlisted Whitchurch. Commemorated Trois Arbes Cemetery. Coll Grave II.J.16-23.
COTTON	A S	Pte. RASC. Alvery Samuel Cotton. Driver T3/028026. 3 Company, 21st Division Train, Army Service Corps. Died 3rd November 1918. Son of Henry and Elizabeth Cotton (nee Minshall). Born 1892 Wem, enlisted Shrewsbury and resident Wem. Commemorated Vis-En-Artois Memorial. Panel 12.
DARLINGTON	T H	Gnr. RGA. Thomas Howard Darlington. Gunner 200872. Siege Anti-Aircraft Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Died influenza 24 Casualty Clearing Station 20th October 1918. Son of Richard J and Rebecca Jane Darlington (nee Howard). Born 1886 Paddol Green and enlisted 10th February 1915 Wem. Commemorated Montecchio Precalcino Communal Cemetery Extension. 6.C.1.
DIDLICK	G E	Sergt. 1st KSLI. George Edward Didlick. Sergeant 9283. 1st Battalion, Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. Killed in action 3rd December 1917. Son of Edward and Emma Didlick (nee Carwardine) of Edstaston (as 1911). Born 1892 Golding, enlisted Shrewsbury and resident Wem. Commemorated Cambrai Memorial. Panel 8 and 9.
JONES	J	Pte. N Staffs. Joshua Jones. Private 35172. 1st Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment. Died (noted as ‘Prisoner of War’ in Soldiers Effects) 11th January 1919. Son of Lewis and Martha Jones (nee Brayne). Born 1893 Bettisfield Wales, enlisted Lichfield and resident Stafford STS. Commemorated Niederzwehren Cemetery. III.E.8.
MANNING	C	Pte. 2nd Welsh. Charles Manning. Private 43660. 2nd Battalion, Welsh Regiment, formerly 48144 Cheshire Regiment. Killed in action 18th October 1918. Son of Ellis and Elizabeth Manning (nee Thomas). Born 1894 Gadlas Wales and enlisted Chester CHS. Commemorated La Vallee-Mulatre Communal Cemetery Extension. A.6.
RATCLIFFE	T	Pte. 1st Hereford. Thomas Ratcliffe. Private 237757. 1st Battalion, Herefordshire Regiment. Killed in action 30th July 1918. Son of George and Jane Ratcliffe (nee Maddocks or Maddox). Husband of Frances Ratcliffe (nee Beels). Born 1884 Edstaston and enlisted Wem. Commemorated Raperie British Cemetery. IX.B.9.
ROBERTS	W	Pte. 10th KSLI. William Roberts. Private 230382. 10th Battalion, Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. Killed in action 22nd August 1918. Son of William and Mary Roberts (nee Painter) of Prees. Born 1897 Manchester LAN, enlisted Shrewsbury and resident Coton. Commemorated Loos Memorial. Panel 98 and 99.
SMITH	S	Sergt. DOWWRR. Sydney Smith. Sergeant 12059. C Company, 2nd Battalion, Duke of Wellingtons (West Riding Regiment). Killed in action 10th October 1917. Son of Richard and Kate Smith (nee Waterson). Born 1896 Edstaston, enlisted Ilkley YKS and resident Edstaston (as 1911). Commemorated Tyne Cot Memorial. Panel 82 to 85.
STOCKTON	W	Pte. 1st KSLI. William Stockton. Private 21311. B Company, 1st Battalion, Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. Died of wounds 31st March 1918. Son of Thomas and Ann Stockton (nee Downward) of Whixall. Born 1897 Wem, enlisted Wem and resident Whixall. Commemorated Soignies (Zinnik) Communal Cemetery. II.B.5.
SUTTON	S	Pte. Worcesters. Stephen Sutton. Private 40646. 4th Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment. Killed in action 4th March 1917. Son of Thomas and Mary Sutton (former name unknown, marriage not proven). Born 1896 Coton, enlisted Whitchurch and resident Tilstock. Commemorated Thiepval Memorial. Pier and Face 5A and 5C.
TURNER	J G	Pte. KSLI. Jesse George Turner. Private 33282. 10th Battalion, Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. Died of wounds 229th Field Ambulance 22nd September 1918. Son of Isaac and Harriet Turner (nee Palmer). Husband of Rosina Turner (nee Tull, now wife of Frank C Richards). Born 22nd February 1882 Aylesbury BKM, enlisted Wem and resident Whixall. Commemorated Peronne Communal Cemetery Extension. IV.D.18.
WILLIAMS	A	Sergt. KSLI. Alfred Williams. Sergeant 17338. 5th Battalion, Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. Killed in action 22nd August 1917. Son of Alfred and Edith Williams (nee Tickle) of Edstaston (as 1911). Born 1897 Paddol Green and enlisted Wem. Commemorated Tyne Cot Memorial. Panel 112 to 113.
