CAWSTER	George [Henry]	Private 1967. 6th Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment. Died of wounds 8th August 1915. Son of David and Mary Ann Cawser (nee Sammons). Born 1897 Yoxall and enlisted Lichfield. Commemorated Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery. I.C.7.
GEE	Francis [William]	Lance Corporal 240756. 5th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment). Killed in action 23rd April 1917. Son of Thomas and Sarah Ann Gee (nee Martin). Born 1888 Kings Bromley, enlisted 14th October 1914 Chesterfield DBY and resident Yoxall. Commemorated Arras Memorial. Bay 7.
HEATHCOTE	Charles	Rifleman 37205. 8th Battalion, London Regiment. Killed in action 7th October 1916. Son of Charles and Hannah Heathcote (nee Jones). Born 18th September 1889 Yoxall, enlisted London (place unspecified) and resident Yoxall. Commemorated Thiepval Memorial. Pier and Face 9C and 9D.
HEATHCOTE	Henry	Lance Corporal 14531 (as CWGC, Corporal as ‘Soldiers Effects’). 9th Battalion, Cheshire Regiment. Killed in action 25th September 1915. Son of Charles and Hannah Heathcote (nee Jones). Born 1891 Yoxall, enlisted 18th September 1914 Birkenhead CHS and resident Burton on Trent. Commemorated Loos Memorial. Panel 49 and 50.
HOLLIS	H A	Private. - Unable to identify H A Hollis. - Possibly incorrect initial and should read William Alfred Hollis. Private 17602. 18th Battalion, Kings (Liverpool) Regiment. Killed in action 23rd April 1917. Son of William and Mary Ann Hollis (nee Leedham) of Hadley End. Born 1897 Eastham, enlisted 3rd September 1914 Liverpool LAN and resident Eastham CHS. Commemorated Arras Memorial. Bay 3.
HOLMES	Henry	[Enlists as Harry Holmes]. Private 70927. 9th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment), formerly 2571 North Staffordshire Regiment. Died of wounds 11th June 1917. Son of Herbert and Sarah Ann Holmes (nee Valentine). Husband of Rose Elizabeth Holmes (nee Sharratt). Born 1886 Yoxall, enlisted Burton on Trent and resident Yoxall. Commemorated Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension. III.C.75.

JENNINGS	Charles Francis	Lieutenant. 13th Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action 8th April 1917. Son of Henry William and Alice Elizabeth Jennings (nee Wakefield). Born 1896 Yoxall. Commemorated Fins New British Cemetery. VI.G.1.
LESTER	Christopher John	Born 1896 Yoxall, the son of Alfred and Mary Ellen Lester (nee Wright). Husband of Elsie M Lester (nee Robinson, now wife of Basil K Preston). Served as Private M2/151865, Royal Army Service Corps and discharged 31st August 1919 (with unspecified ‘disability’), civil death recorded 1924. Commemoration unknown.
LESTER	James Henry	Private M2/156161. 64th Mechanical Transport Company, Army Service Corps. Died of wounds 14th July 1916. Son of Alfred and Mary Ellen Lester (nee Wright). Born 1894 Yoxall, enlisted Burton on Trent (attested 9th December 1915, mobilized 22nd February 1916) and resident Burton on Trent. Commemorated Forceville Communal Cemetery and Extension. 2.C.6.
MEWIS	Charles	[Mewise as 1889 birth record, Charles Mewis on other records.] Lance Corporal 32639. 1st Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment, formerly 04939 Royal Army Ordnance Corps. Killed in action 4th October 1917. Son of John and Ellen Mewis (nee Dukes). Husband of Annie Mewis (nee Kidd). Born Yoxall, enlisted Burton on Trent and resident Yoxall. Commemorated Railway Dugouts Burial Ground (Transport Farm). IV.M.16.
MOORE	Henry Ernest	[Enlists as Harry Moore] Company Sergeant Major 8257. 1st Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment. Killed in action 29th June 1917. Son of Thomas and Annie Moore (nee Archer) of King Street, Yoxall (as 1911). Husband of Alice Moore (believed nee Andrews but unverified). Born 1888 Yoxall, enlisted Lichfield and resident Coton. Commemorated Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. Panel 55.

RAWORTH	Harry Noel	Private 41366. 9th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Died 15th April 1918. Son of Alfred and Sarah Ann Rayworth (nee Westwood) of Yoxall. Born Newborough and enlisted Walsall. Commemorated Tyne Cot Memorial. Panel 34 and 35.
RITCHIE	Cecil Oliphant	Captain, South Staffordshire Regiment (3rd Battalion as 1911). Died 13th November 1917 and civil death recorded. Son of James and Frances Ritchie (nee Appleby). Husband of Mary Gertrude Ritchie (nee Harrison). Born 3rd March 1876 Cork IRL and enlisted 1895, resident Barton under Needwood (as probate). Appears died after discharge, no trace CWGC and commemoration unknown.
SHIPTON	Harry [Leslie M]	Drummer 9834. 2nd Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment. Died 18th General Hospital 22nd August 1916. Parentage unproven. Grandson of William and Harriet Shipton of Yoxall. Born 1895 Burton on Trent and enlisted Lichfield. Commemorated Etaples Military Cemetery. IX.F.8.

UDALL	John William	Private 29243. B Company, 1st Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment, formerly 22124 North Staffordshire Regiment. Killed in action 22nd October 1916. Son of Lewis and Sarah Udall (nee Udall) of Yoxall. Born 1896 Stowe by Chartley, enlisted Lichfield and resident Burton on Trent. Commemorated Thiepval Memorial. Pier and Face 6C.
UPTON	John Christopher	Private 114829. 35th Battalion, Machine Gun Corps (Infantry), formerly 202967 Wiltshire Regiment. Died of wounds 25th April 1918. Son of Charles Foster and Louisa Upton (nee Crisp). Husband of Letitia Upton (nee Hill). Born 1894 Yoxall and enlisted Coventry WAR. Commemorated Doullens Communal Cemetery Extension No: 1. VI.A.61.
VALENTINE	John	Private 22763. 8th Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment. Killed in action 31st October 1916. Son of Thomas and Fanny Valentine (nee Hackett). Born 1882 Yoxall, enlisted Burton on Trent and resident Yoxall. Commemorated Thiepval Memorial. Pier and Face 14B and 14C.
